Hi guys...(Fig?) does anyone know anything more about this Kombi tent? Owner says it has "Kombi Junior" on the label,... Kampc(k)raft on it, and an address in "Transvaal" all in english and afrikaans. The bag the tent is in says 'Kombi Junior tent KK 1974'
It looks slightly smaller than my Kombi drive-away tent and has a slant in the one picture, presumably to be at the front, so that the kombi does not drive onto the tent... do I have this correct?
Is it worth the R900 asking price?

R900 is a bargain for a tent of that size,..any tent! And they are becoming increasingly difficult to find.If I didnt already have a combi tent I would seriously consider buying it.

Yes, good price and a nice looking tent. You've already given us all the info on the tent! There were many, many different designs of locally made kombi tents back in the day and they were very popular. Not easy to find these days, and that one looks in good nick and complete.

Got it! safe and secure in my bus.... got it a lil cheaper as well, along with 8 ice bricks, a roll nylon rope for new guy ropes, a cadac cooker to lamp extension arm (new) as well as a Coleman lamp.

Good deal! How much are you offering it for?
Interesting that it slopes on the bus side. My VWSA tent slopes on the front side, but is vertical on the bus side.

Fig, in my initial post I said that it looked as if the tent was on back to front, or the frame the wrong way around... spoke to the PO, and he said that they put it on the wrong way that day, and that the sloping side is actually the front and the straight side for the rear. This enables the bus to drive up against the back of the tent without driving over the tent, and allows the 2 wind breaker flaps to sit more flush to the bus... hope this makes sense...

will hold onto it for a while Fig.... will camp out in the yard again this weekend, like last weekend. I pitched my Kombi drive-away tent, checked for any problems (found none!!!), made sure all the bits were there, opened the big ground sheet, and lastly marked the poles to my own liking... this way, I did not have to figure out the Po's system... Then we braaied, camped out in it, and on the sunday, cleaned it up and packed it away... will do the same to the new one...
Now I know im ready for the KKKAK 2011!
