Looks like a 72, chrome moons, slots all the way over the engine lid and petrol flap opening from the inside.

A 1600 because of the opening rear windows and what looks like a locking engine lid.

The seat are not correct as they are from a 1300.

Cool ride man. Looks solid, what are your planz??

Like Tom said, it looks like a 72.
I say just make it safe for everyday driving,
Eg: replace brake and fuel lines.
Clean and lube the suspension beams,
Service the car
And keep it on the road.

Also replace ALL FUEL LINES!!! You have been warned.

The other thing. Under the engine lid the fan out lets has been blocked-off(that nice red cap you got there), but not the holes in the surrounding engine tin(yeah, there where you can peep through and see the exhaust/ground). Block that off too. It allows unwanted engine heat to return to the top (the engine bay), this is not good. It makes your engine 'breathe' hot air, and in turn heats up the engine even more. VWs dont like to run too hot....

Oh, and welcome to the club. Be prepared to be frustrated and work on your car yourself. Beetles aren't realy an "easy" first car to have!

hahaha

thanks guys, i will take those words to heart and keep it all in mind, i dont mind doing the work my self, i've had my fare share of mechanical workings on a Car before i use to race, so im all good in that area.

Could any one help me out with how to lower this baby please.

I've got some crazy idea's for this little ride, i was thinking along the lines of turbocharging the engine and maybe at a later stage get a over bore kit for her and while im at it ima put some sound in it something powerful, i love BASS :D and good quality sound.

Anyone got any ideas on what i should do for her, i would like abit more power and then need help finding some rims, if not just keep it just as it is, might respray her, not to sure yet.

Anyone know of any cape town shop's where i can find some parts or any good sources for turbo's...

thanks a million guys

One last thing,

Do you think 185 tires are enough for this baby, or should i invest in something alittle more meaty like some 205?

thanks again

Give Dave Rowley a call 0845660604 or david (at) smc.org.za with regards to the turbo and the big bore kit, he can also do the lowering on it
