At the Beginning of the June 16 1976 uprising the Beetle was on the
forefront but the name
Beetle is never qouted.
But we know it was there. So in my belief this will make any beetle owner
proud to know that this car is part of this celebrated SA holiday across the
Rainbow Nation.
And Where was Juli-Arse Male-Ma?
How old was He?

When the march went wrong the Beetle was right there.

I only realize now how all this was eerily absent from our history books in school....
Maybe it was because it was too "recent" to be included in the history in the 90's but if I didn't go look at the topic, I wouldn't have known about it.

It is Strange how the Beetle can be associated with both liberation and persecution.

The June16 main picture of the three running students
doesn't show their destination neh ?
With everything that went on on that day the car part in
the history was suppose to be told.
Their destination with the wounded Hector was to the Beetle
not to the Valiants , the Dodges or any of the cars that were there.
Why to the Beetle?
In my experience it never let you down ,emergency or not , daylight or at nightime.
Proof
The fallen Hero of June 16 was taken away in a BEETLE no squabbles. History owes us that part in their books of SA History.
