Now this is the type of Notch that I would drive, even if it is a waterpumper! Those slanted lights are tastefully AND skillfully done. *Hancock voice* Good job!

Who did the front light conversion?

Have seen plenty of pics of this Notch done by Hannes, and also in the metal, and the work done is just perfect.
Someone without ACVW knowledge would never spot the mods. Apparently its no slow coach either ?

Lovely car, enjoy. :10:

Wasn't that Werner Alker's car that was for sale at Cars In The Park?

Thanks guys, but as some of you may know this car used to belong to Hannes Schnetler and all the praise should go to him for a job well done on Restoring this Notch to a "brand-new" state. By the way, this restoration was completed 3rd Quarter 2002 (making it almost a decade old) which just goes to show the quality of his worksmanship.

Hannes Schnetler is obviously the mastermind behind making the Headlights fit so snug on the Notch.

I'd rather not say how much it set me back as Hannes sold it to me for much less than he would have sold it to anybody else for.

As for drive-abillity, there is nothing bad to say about it. Porsche 356 Aluminium drumbrakes makes it stop alot better than any stock Notch or Beetle does. Car runs perfectly straight (let go of the Steering wheel at 70 MPH on the Highway and it keeps going straight). The 2.1Liter Watercooled Fuel Injected Kombi Engine makes for great acceleration and lots of torque. An extreme pleasure driving the Notch on the open roads at 80MPH with the engine running at 3000RPM.

Will be joining Hannes for my first Event this coming Saturday in Witbank, and after that I will be going to the Beetle 75th Anniversary Event at SA Mint on the 20th of June to support all you Beetle owners. I am sure I will be able to convince Hannes to bring his '59 Ragtop along for the ocassion (still working on convincing him). I already convinced him to collect his '59 Ragtop from storage in Pretoria, which we did yesterday. Amazing looking Beetle!! Could actually see how delighted he was to drive it again, since he hadn't driven it for 6 months. Turned the key and it started first time, absolutely amazing.

See you guys around at the meets and Events ;)
