Found this in an old Hot VWs magazine
this was in July 1977 and believe it or not Intermeccanica is still in the bussiness

love it....................inter actually make the new line of speedsters on a space frame chassis and you can order a scooby motor as stock.
very faithful reproductions.

For a while in the 1980s Intermeccanica Speedster replicas were fetching higher prices than the real thing ...
