Ja, I love the way the advertizing companies do that. Get the teenie weeniest people to sit 4 abreast... Bollocks. We were 9 people on the Wacky Wine Weekend, two up front, three in the back, comfortably, and four uncomfortably in the middle. It's an eight seater, believe me, except on the kindergarden run.

My father had a light gray 65 kombi, with the jump seat on the side. Middle seat faced backwards. Previously belonged to a school, who used it daily to transport children from the farms and back. When we got it in 1968, it still had the rear painted in black and yellow zebra-stripes.
Inside, there was written "14 passasiers/ 14 passengers", and the rear hatch was marked on the inside :"emergency exit/ nooduitgang". Rear hatch could be opened from the inside. Used for both primary school and secondary school children.
The school had about 3 kombis. They sold them in 68 when they bought a Mercedes bus.
Always wondered about that side-mounted jump seat, which models had them.

The 10-seater was a SA-only configuration.
As Dawie says, they have the middle seat facing the rear and a jump seat (similar to the one on an ambulance) on the wall opposite the doors.
Front: 3 pax
Middle: 3 pax
Rear: 3 pax
Jump: 1 Pax
= 10 pax
I have a German book with pics of a 12-seater

for transporting workers on site; also has pics of the same bus filled with teenage schoolgirls
Here's an original SA 10-seater kombi:
