I just received word that forum member Piet Jacobs fell ill this weekend and passed away. :(

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family.

Piet was not very active on these forums but I know that many people here knew him.

Rest in peace, Piet, you were one of the good guys.

I just noticed that this is what Piet had in his sig line:

How upsetting. He mailed me often to chat. He was also the very first forum member I met at Ferdi's last year... Rest in peace friend.

Piet was a quality controller at a cheese factory. Every time I met him he had a block of special reserve, two-years matured cheddar and a loaf of self-baked olive ciabatta for me and mrsfig. He always found an excuse not to give me his ciabatta recipe; now I'll never get it out of him.

We will miss you Piet.
