Has eny one ever thought of using the heater boost air (cool not hot) coming out of the fan dog house to force feed there motor?

I have done it on my bug a few years ago and did feel a slight difference on the bum dyno...how real the gains are I have no idea, but the car did feel slighly more responsive and more willing to rev

I do not think the volume would be enough to make any difference... My personal opinion.
Maybe I'm wrong, the only way to find out is to try it though.

Ps it wont damage the engine in any way right?

You would need to put an air filter arrangement on it.... a bit tricky I think. Other than that, you would need to seal the carb properly as you would in a turbo application, otherwise pressure will get into the carb and make it weep and also go lean (I am pretty sure it will go lean, but am second guessing myself right now). Lean AFR = dead engine

On another thought, I think that the air supplied at higher engine loads will be less than the air delivered from the fan, causing the carb to suck again instead of having the air fed to it. In these times, I would rather have the air cooling the engine than going into its throat.

Why not try to ducty fresh cold air through air hoses (3" or bigger) into the engine bay near the carb.... prob get the same effect you are looking for just from the air being cold

Think Vader tried the ducting air to the carb...didn't really make a difference was his conclusion. But hey CAI works wonders on new cars... So maybe there is hope.

I did it about 20 years ago on a 1500 single port using 50mm PVC tubing some clamps and stock heat exchanger pipe, first with only the right side blowing then used a PVC "T" and connected the left side too. I even removed the choke from the carb.
It made no noticable diff. on perfomance
Just got an erratic idle.

Found this in one of my old mags they made the leaf blower run on nitrous

did it on my 1500 years ago used a modified creepy crawly pipe...i also felt a differance when the motor was cold,but when it was hot it got very slugish...hahaha i still remeber thinking that these i love these cars,its got its own supercharger!?

I'm thinking about bringing cooled air from the front which I'm going to make a vent in to suck air through the nose to the rear end and see how that goes might make a unnoticeable diff but worth the try
