Aircooled VW South Africa

My Ghia started giving me about 2 weeks ago, I have an idea it might be the valves. It back fires periodically through the exhaust and the carb.
I am taking my bus project very slowly so there is a fully operational motor and gearbox in my garage waiting to hit the road. It was decided this late evening to pull the Ghia's motor and replace it with the Bus' motor.

On inspection the Ghia is running a SP gearbox and a 1200 motor. No wonder the thing takes forever to get going. Anyway we pulled the motor and replaced it. According to my son it now goes like a rocket.

I will have to decide tommorrow morning if I take the ghia to work or still use the 3 geared buggy.

Well I took the Ghia this morning. All I can say is Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark. What a difference.

Cool beans!!! We need to organise a run sometime - I still have plenty work to do on mine but its mobile

OK well its to late for a run in the Ghia. Its officially off the road while under going a resto...

I just hope my buggy holds out while this resto takes place.

No clues will be given about whats happening until its completed.
