I don't believe it is a completely idea. There has been a number of times I've been stuck on the N3 towards Randburg only to find some stuck in the middle lane with his fuel cap open and a dumb stare in his eyes. Then he steals 15 minutes of my time stuck in the traffic.

I know it is harsh but they should do the same with trucks loosing their loads.

This is all well and good, but until this country tackles the crap that is the taxi industry, it's just yet another donation to the ANC Rolls Royce Drophead fund.

Another much needed law passed with good intentions. It will be actively policed for 3 months and then forgotten.
I think some of these laws are introduced as motivational tools for the law enforcers, something like a new toy, to keep the revenue flowing in.

Ever since I knew anything about a car I knew it was illegal to run out of gas on the freeway (safety reasons I assume).

Oh - In the states they have free road side assist by specialist teams and patrol cars on a lot of the freeways - yes, they actually stop to help !

Same in a few european countries where they have "free tow" zones in busy areas for stranded vehicles - imagine that Minnaar (and friends) - tax payers actually getting something other than a Metro Police compliments slip !
