That backside looks Panamera-or-Bentley-like..
I wonder if the valve covers will still be interchangeable with an AC Beetle like they showed in Herbie the movie....

Hmmm...not sure about this one. Maybe it'll grow on me. For some reason as soon as I saw the pics my mind flashed up an image of an old Volvo

Enough already with all this fawning oohing and aahing. The waterbug is nothing more than a glorifed handbag, with this one just being the new season's fashion. At the heart of the ethos behind the real Beetle was that it did not pander to the dictates of fashion.

I'll stickk to timeless classics thanks. No fashion accessories for me.

If it is, in any way, closer to the front of the car than the back, that thing will never be a beetle.
If it is front wheel drive, it will never be a beetle.

And yes, it does look a lot like just another fashion statement.

Fact is, you can look at any AC beetle, and it always looks like it's smiling.
Even when they are hard used and rusted, it's as if their whole stance is saying:

"I'm here to carry you, with a smile, anywhere you want to go."

That thing, looks like it's saying:

"I'm here to rip a hole in your wallet, so that you can look cool to others, for exactly the time it take to drive me from the showroom, into your driveway."

Right now, I can not think of this thing, as anything other than another pretender.

I think its an improvement on the old one but I wouldn't want one myself. Rather go for a scirocco

Scirocco...I rather take this beetle...the new rocco is a piece of kaka ...sorry Chris but it just doesnt look good. I mean the old scirocco was a classic icon...the new one is way ofcourse....
