So its 15:30 on Friday afternoon and the phone rings. Server down in Queenstown
Shoot up there early this morning miffed about my weekend being ruined.
The store owner spots the split bus on my T shirt and starts telling me all about the '75 DC bay he's busy restoring. Been in his family since new.
We get chatting and he reveals some interesting info.
1st. a '63 bug a mate is selling with licence and roadworthy for R25000.00. I had to go look. Took these pictures.

2 nd. The mate has a mate with a shed full of spares he may want to part with. Had to go look at that too.
turns out there are enough bits to rebuild 3 beach buggies one early bay bus and a KG. Unfortunately the owners not there so I couldn't get a price. I'll post pictures and more details once I have them.
3 rd. The mates mate has another mate with a '58 or '59 split bus for sale. In for a penny in for a pound, had to go and look at that too.
This is when the story turns
again. The bus was sold a couple of months ago, driven away with 'iffy' brakes but other than that all working, I confirmed about the semaphores to establish that the vintage was correct. Sold for the mighty sum of R500.00 (five hundred rand only)
