We have been talking about a serious topic namely busses going
out of the country
We have come up with a plan that might help all of us on this forum
i would like to know how many FORUM MEMBERS ONLY would be
interested in buying a ticket to win a bus ?
remember this is just a survey for now

How about doing the same for buses before they are exported and offered for sale locally...?

We'll see what happens for now we need to know who is willing to do it
it doesn't help 10 people are interested if so then it's a case of case closed it won't happen !

I will happily contribute a couple of hundred bucks to an initial purchase fund, as a donation, not a raffle ticket. I can't see this getting off the ground without cash up front. Once we have a car to raffle, then the ticket proceeds would replenish the fund for the next purchse. It would definitely be more effective and practical to start with cars that are in danger of being exported, rather than trying to buy something in the UK. The bus in question will cost us more than a quarter bar and it will still be 10,000km away.
It's probably a good idea to come up with some numbers. The avergae split bus priced for export ranges from R80k to R120k. There are probably about 200 active forum members, which means every one of us needs to commit at least R500 for this to work. I'm in. How many others would be OK with a R500 donation? And then there's the cost of raffle tickets once we have a car; the tickets would need to raise enough money to fully replenish the fund.

I am keen too, but only if the bus that is purchased is saved from definite exporting. I don't want to raffle just for a random bus

Brilliant idea, for now I can look at purchasing a raffle ticket but unfortunately can't put money towards initial purchase.

I'd be willing to buy a ticket, but I'd be to avraid to do so.
What happens if I win?
I'd be dead the moment the bus arrives at my front door.
Seriously, my wife will walk out of the kitchen, with the pruning knife in her hands, calmly aproach me, give me a kiss and then proceed to disembowl me.
Sorry. I'd have to say no.

I'll pay R500 towards the contribution, if I understand correctly that it'll be once off and fund will keep itself going after that? I'll see it as membership fees to trawl this site with it's invaluable information and access to some quality input from ACVW experts.
