Hi All,
This is my first post on this forum. I am building a 911 motor in to an APAL speedster. I need some advice on a 36-1 dictator management system.
I am not sure about the placement of the missing tooth and pickup location. See picture of gear location on motor.

Sounds like an awesome project, would love to see more pics...

If you had Gotech, we could probably help as gotech is a forum member here.

Go to the diktator website and read through the manuals if they have them. It should be able to tell you how and why...

What model and size engine have you got.
I got two manuals if you need help 72-78 which is typically the 2.4 lt to 2.7lt manesium block models and 84-89 which are the alluminium block 3.o lt to 3.6 lt models (last of the a/c s )
These manuals can be found on the net but Icant remember where

But first the pictures ,without that you will not get famous here.

Some pictures of my project. I contacted three people listed on the dictator website and all three gave me a different answer of how to do the timing. I mounted the pickup for the gear, still not sure on what tooth to cut. I had to lengthen the car for the motor to fit. The motor is a 2.2l

wow.............that's unique...........kudos to you for doing something fresh........I'm seriously inpressed.

With a speedster you have two problems with the roof. Firstly the windscreen is to low and secondly the seats are too high. I made a role cage to support my roof and two fiberglass pieces that will fit inside the soft top for support. I made new lower seats, will see how they look when they come back from the trimmers. The rear lights are LED lights that I made. My tail, stop and indicators work from the same LEDs and I only have one wire plus the earth on each light. For the front I built LEDs in to the headlights for my indicators. I molded most of the wiring in to the body using copper wire that’s normally use to wire electric motors. I don’t have an ignition switch and when I press that red button on my dash I cut all power on the car, only the starter cable and wire to the alternator will still have power on them.

this is one KICK ASS thread, pity there arnt more in between pics, this sort of build takes a lot of balls, well done on your individualism,

I like the rear but I would use real 356 lights -- to old to like these small lights

If you have the right speedster seats in there, then they're just fine. They sit really low and even at 120kmh I don't feel any wind with the roof down. With the proper seats, you're almost sitting on the floor.

Hmmmm, angular roll bar isn't doing it for me though.........tail lights are also a bit too out there.

Still each to his own.
