I heard of two split busses that had been pulled out of a yard and onto the road, a Fleetline and a '58 in the Parow area. Went hunting with Erus Meyer but alas could'nt find them. On our way back home we went passed this sad looking single cab. I know the owner, he will not sell, been in the same spot for a few years now
Hopefully it will get put under a roof soon !!! Sad.

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.
some doos owns them and is convinced he can export them and fix them up ? a guy i know offered 3k for the panel 2 years ago in much better condition and was turned down now there are holes between roof and body !!
i offered on the red one (big price as a donor bus but no the owner is coming in Dec to see what his buses look like before deciding to sell or to export ?? more damage by then !!...if you own it fix it or sell it to someone who can fix it !! if you don't and let it rust in its moer then you are also a doos !! sorry but that's how i feel !! more to follow on this story at a later stage then it will all make sense !!
shame on those who let them rot !!

Yes it did indeed. I ended up buying both buses stashed on a smallholding outside East London, The owner was in the UK and didn't pay storage so the buses were left in out in the velt and rusted away it took months of patience and negotiations and i finally maganed to buy them and settle the storage bill..... (there was a thread i did on cutting up the red bus somewhere on the forum)...it was rotten to the core (i still have parts from it that we use every now and then on projects ) but the fleetline panelvan ended up with Herman for 5K !! absolute bargain at the time best buy he ever did nice to see some history
