Crash tests

My brother in law works at a mine up north. He sent me this picture last week.

The mine is conducting tests to see what the impact will be if a mine truck drives into a microbus. He told me that they use baywindows with everything still intact.
He also told me about a splitty. They welded in a rollcage and sent it down a steep incline. He said he stood and watched as the two front windows shattered as it rolled.

There doesn't sound like much scientific basis for their "crash tests".

I agree Fig. If you have a look at the impact on the nose of the bay it looks quite scary. That could be your legs in the way.

There's still some glass and probably a seat or two to salvage!

Surely they don't need everything inside for their tests...

Why don't they test on new buses most people are driving them and not the old buses :?

They must be proper scientists - everyone knows - including taxi drivers - that a Bay is far stronger than the new bake bean tins people are been loaded into !

Prize :jerkoff: 's

My grandfather says they called "Rock slope stability Mechanic".

They come and perform tests to see how wide and how high benches can be...he says after a few years and you start to mine down and create benches they come in with a car that has been in an accident and get it back on wheels and rolling, then they have the front end loader get it up to a speed of about 60kmh and run it off ground level and into the quarry to see how many benches it will fall and how much damage is done before it comes to a stop.
