How did it handle on the road with that load?

Mine handles a huge amount better when it is fully loaded. It is a lot more stable and solid on the road.

It's always nice to see when a bus is still being used for what it was made for. :D

Hmmmmmm should'nt have done that, but the builders yard was closing, the previous load of stone I did in two trips.
It handled the load ok considering the "roads" around here, but a load like that can't be doing it any good

LOL! Given that bakkie's history I'm sure it's done it plenty of times! Doubling the payload does not constitute overloading a VW bus; they're built to take it. :hangloose:

Ha ha ha - for sure Richard, mabey we are nuts, I just love looking at ANY old commercial vehicle doing it's thing

This is Hennie and Joan Binneman, they are always visiting my place and planting trees and other plants, in fact they now have their own area at my place called Binnemans Hoek - Hennie can't help bringing geese or chickens along - or what ever he finds along the way - just love them 8)

Cool pics Paul. I also love seeing VW commercials at work. So let's open this thread up to all VWs buses carrying loads:

I'll dig up some pics of the 71 single cab at work.

I had it loaded up with a huge pile of khakibos a couple of weekends ago, but didn't take a pic.
