I'm pretty sure that's a generic "Kombi tent" as made by any number of SA tent makers in the 1970s and 1980s. There was one that was sold by SA VW dealers, which would make it an "official" VW Kombi tent, but this is not it. All generic SA Kombi tents I have seen were made for baywindows, but I daresay that back in the 50s and 60s local tent makers were also making split bus Kombi tents.

I agree wih Fig that it is a generic kombi tent, but I think it was possibly made later than the 70's or 80's. The pictures give away the fact that it could have a built in ground sheet, or just a black flap, whereas the old Kampkraft of caravan tents where normally sand or beige coloured. The side windows also look a little later to me and dont really look like the usual 'bay windows' that could be pulled outwards and then tied down with 2 guy ropes.
The pictures taken dont really show the tent off very well, as it does not show the important bits like the front door, and whether it has a front window or port hole window. The pictures also dont show the rear opening which would also tell a lot.
In short it looks very similar in parts to the kombi tent Ron & Gill bought off me. Picture attached.

Tsk Tsk tsk...
and here, all I tried to do was sell a tent. So you're all wrong...it was made in the 90's as I said for a Split(Not a Bay or a Caravan or a Camel...just in case you wondered). As you pull up next to the tent, it has an opening, just wide enough to open the cargo doors(Not sliding doors, barn doors or even a Camel's arse). In front it has a door similar to the one in Mud's picture but opens from left to right, with the long end on the left of the opening. It has no groundsheet, carpet or Camel skin. Was not made by VW, Gypsy or Abdul Aleem Musa! It was custom made by a tent maker.
Right hope that solves the mystery
PS Beetlefanatic is almost the proud new owner
PPS Muds, for getting a picture in the same colour as mine, you win a Noddy badge

Are you going to show them off at the Kult kamp-out Bernard?
I have a few Kombi tents as well; maybe we should put on a display.

Well thanks to the two clowns for letting the cat out the bag, so no surprise unveiling at the KKKNK!
No harm no foul.

I'm hoping to have them both at KKKNK. Just have to sort out the details of getting them to me or going to fetch them.
For a small fee I might offer my services as courier for guys needing to move not too large items between CT and Pta. It will be around the week before the George show.
