Hi guys,

Were Standard Model Beetles ever produced here in SA? When I say standard, I mean the Spartan models with no chrome etc, as opposed to the early Deluxe models and later post '68 'L' spec cars which had some added bling and functionality...

I do know that '67 - '69 Type 3 Notchbacks came in the Basic A model spec...

What about Beetles?

Very curious about this level of spec or lack thereof

AFAIK all SA Beetles were export spec.

Standard 1200 Beetles had cable brakes until 1964
