The guy looking at our splitty says the master cylinder isn't working right but he's gonna open it up and see if it's salvageable.
If it isn't I'd like to replace it with a dual circuit one. Can you get them here? Seen them for sale on foreign sites.
He says the wheel cylinders are also Pitted but he's gonna see if he can hone them.
he also said "It LOOKED so nice on the outside!" and laughed!!!
And so it starts.....*gulp*

A Golf1 MC can be modded to fit. You can still buy new single circuit MCs from calooker. While a dual circuit MC will give you peace of mind, so long as you maintain your car properly your chances of suffering total brake failure are tiny. In more than half a million kilometres of driving single circuit MC split buses, I have never had a brake failure.
Dual circuit MCs for splits are one-year only items (1967) and are therefore very pricey.

Seems Volkspares has no stock so Calooker might be the way to go. Ive PMd him.
Going to go look at the bus on Monday now that it's on a lift. I'm scared!!!!!!!!!

I have a write up from a Volksworld magazine where they fit a Dual Circuit master cylinder. It was a CSP conversion and they use the MK1 Golf master cylinder. They are quite cheap from Goldwagen; you can buy the good quality German part.
