Advice on delivery issues

I know we have this thread http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... =3&t=14921 which really deals with ‘suppliers’, who most of them are non-forum members here at acvwsa.
Now, I have a scenario. A month ago I bought some items off an ACTIVE member of this forum. He contributes daily and swaps parts with others here. Pillar to post I have been shunted to and fro, asking for the items I paid for in good faith that they would arrive in my box via registered mail. To date, nothing. Excuse after excuse I am given, and I just am not sure what to do next. Inbox and private emails seem not to yield any results (I do have to say, I get a 90% response rate - even if it be an excuse).

:zhelp: acvwsa family, how does one deal with this domestic matter? Last thing I wanna do is not to trade and swop with my own family members. :zhelp:

Hloni, I have the same problem. 14 months ago I paid for an item even added a bit extra for postage and am still waiting! The member knows who he is, and has promised (before Xmas last year to post item) but still nothing. NOT same member as you have problem with I hope!

ask for a refund and then, if not done timeiously, I say "name and shame" as with the other suppliers, at least the rest of us will know not to deal with them.

maybe it will also make them give a better service, i have only had good dealings with guys i have bought stuff from on the forum. most have really gone out of their way to get the parts to me.

I also will not support bad suppliers in My normal business so why do it here.

Name them & shame them, at least others can avoid the same issues. :jerkoff:

I sourced a set of registration papers from an active forum member for a friend of mine. Good money was paid. A year later and I am forced to buy the Beetle now because the papers have not shown up yet.

Anyone for a 62 with a good pan? No papers thou.

Guys, we've only heard one side of this story. I don't think it would be appropriate to name and shame until all possible avenues of resolution have been explored.

I personally have no problem with naming and shaming when it is deserved, but there's always three sides to every story.

Perhaps Eben could offer some guidelines on whether he's OK with naming and shaming and, if so, what should the process be.

I see nothing wrong with naming & shaming in this case. If someone has paid for a service/part and it has not been delivered, then why not get the other person's attention, it will def. get a reaction from the other party and get the ball rolling to a resolution.

Because we've only heard one side of the story and Hloni has not done everything he can to get a resolution, including simply cancelling the deal and asking for a refund.

I'm sure none of us wants this site to become a battle ground for failed deals and I for one don't really want to see everyone's dirty laundry on display. These kinds of disputes should be resolved offline. Only if there is no resolution and a vendor has really bilked someone on a deal should they be named and shamed.

I had the same thing. All I know, is I’ve lost less than R400 (postage included) but the individual who received the money has lost more – He knows that I know what he did! That's good enough for me :finger4u:
