At last nights Cape Town meet a question came up about respraying your vehicle. If you do the spray job and change the colour of your car do you have to report your car's new colour to the traffic department and then licience it with it's new colour. It has been said that if you are pulled over in a road block , the cops give you some stick as thier records say your car is supposed to be 1 colour and you have now sprayed it another colour. This tends to make the cops suspect you have a stolen vehicle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the cops are indeed getting colour-difficult -

They used to fall for green or brown from your wallet, now they only accept red or blue...

takes 5 minutes to change the colour of the car at the licencing dept (when you're up front of the queue)lol.

I did it with my beetle, from gey to red/ivory.

"Well, technically, it was Dove Blue back in the '50s officer..."

"It sprouted white and yellow Daisies in the '60s, and then slowly evolved into this lovely, Um, patina..."
