Hi guys,
I have been looking for a bus for a while now.
I had been waiting for some guy to get back to me as I wanted to buy his ’69 early bay, but he just screwed me around.
I am proud to say I bought my 1st bus today!! Damn im still so excited I cant believe it
So yesterday I took a trip down to greenbean’s place to have a look at a 1978 late bay he had for sale.
When I saw the bus I said to myself I will not miss out on this one. The deal was struck and greenbean was nice enough to throw in some extra’s. So now I have a nice parcel tray along with another bootlid(Check the pics, the original has a ding in it somewhere) also might be getting a chrome front bumper.
So now the bus is pretty solid, only some surface rust (as far as I could see). The bus is complete, and the 1600 engine runs, although it might need a recon.
Here she is :

Thanks guys
I have some pics, but it takes forever to upload on photobucket because the are about 2MB each. Is there a way to resize them, and make them smaller and easier to upload?

What I do is right click on the pics and say send to mail or some thing like that. Then it asks if you want them resized for E-mail. Click yes. Then highlight the pictures in the mail box thing and drag them over the old ones. Then they should be smaller.
Sorry I'm not the best at explaining things

Currently the bus is at greenbean's house, I will only fetch the bus after my exams in may ( because if I pick it up now, I will not study and most likely fail ).
Then The plans are as follows...
The bus will most likely be a rolling resto
1. Fix the electrical bugs ( the indicators dont work, along with some other things like wipers )
2. Replace the boot latch's lock with the original one.
3. Remove the rear seats and Check the floor, sand it down and prime (before replacing seats)
4. Check running gear ( maby new brakepads and give the discs a skim ). Suspension wise (what do you guys recommend I check for, and what needs to be replaced?)
5. Drain Gbox, and put new oil. Also minor service for engine (new oil, sparkplugs ect) (what do you guys recommend I replace?)
Then drive as is

I'm just going to enjoy it for a while. Then ill start doing some more things to it.

Try Fig, I'll also keep a look out for one for you ...........check all the second hand book shops, hospice shops, markets, etc, etc.
(I'm looking for one for a Merc 300 SE Auto, if anyone comes across one)

Howsit guys,
So I want to start work on my baywindow, And i really want to start with the mechanicals one of the things i want to start with is the engine.
So what I want to know is : I want to get these parts to start a complete engine rebuild
Are these the right parts for the bay as its fitted with a 1600 engine code : FAD48..... (is this some replacement case or what?)
Is there an easier way or a cheaper way? Am I trying to overboard now?
Thanks in advance
