Hi Fellas,

I am sure some of you might have seen my project build in the Projects section of this site.

Planning my engine build now, and I have put the following spec together.
Kindly advise on my proposed setup and let me know where I am falling short.
I also do not have a clue around what to do with the rockers, pushrods etc.

Who in Johannesburg can help me put this together? Where can I buy a big bore kit from?

Please help

AS41 case modified for full flow

Counterweighted crank

94mm big bore kit

Engle 110 cam

Lifters ***HELP

Flowed Heads with biger valves

Oil Pump ***HELP

Pushrods ***HELP
Fully balanced
Dual Carbs .....36 IDA's or 40 Downdraughts?

Thanks in advance...

Hi I have done a few of those now
get the lifters from the same vendor as the cam
std rockers will do but get swivel foot adjusters
flywheel will need 8 dowels (have crank and flywheel doweled by the same person otherwise buy flywheel from crank vendor)
use a full flow filter oil pump (I like the CB performance pump but empi is ok as well
stock pushrods will do but steel is nicer just get the cut to length versions as you will need spacers under the barrels for a liveable compression ratio.

note Whilst full flow casing is very good I have lost engines due to leaks in HP hoses and therefore dont particularly like a seperate oil filter.

The cost on the build you have in mind is not going to be cheap, do a little homework, you need to know costs involved before you make decisions.
Once you know what you in for $$$, stick to it, bad idea changing things once you have decided and started spending $$$, and most importantly make sure you have the cash. 18K to 25K is a good guestimate, check for yourself first.
You can also buy as you go but stick to the plan.
I can help you source parts & put you onto someone who can build the lot.
