howdy all.....got this recently , minus screen and bonnet , i reckon i have my work cut out for me

what i'd like to know is

1.what shell it is as it might help in finding a bonnet (else i have to fabricate 1)
2.i'd like to incorporate the screen in the front roll bar but i have no idea as to the dimensions of the screen

i'm building this to replace my jetta as my primary fishing vehicle and am fitting a 1300 golf motor

I can't answer your questions, but I'd love to see your intro in the newbies thread, as requested in your welcome mail.

Maybe the lack of response is because you're putting in a water cooled engine?

I can't tell you what that beach buggy body is, but I can tell you what it isn't... It isn't a Beamish, and it isn't straight. And where are you going to drive it on the beach without getting yourself into a heap of trouble with the authorities? Or are you "The Authorities"?

I don't think you'll find many people who build roll cages for LWB buggies, so custom is the way to go, in which case you decide where you want to put the windscreen, and what size you want. I suggest you have a look at a Beamish windscreen, it seems to be about the right size. You might even be able to fiddle a Beamish bonnet onto your buggy.

Or else leave it open and fit a huge radiator.

Good luck with it.

Well if we going on what it is not, then it is Not a Lollette. but try fit another bonnet on it. Rons advice works, Custom Roll cage and have a windscreen cut to size or use another buggys screen.

thanx a mil for the input... the shell at present is not bolted down, in the pic i was trying it on for fit as the po had lengthened it to fit a standard pan, hmmm as to beach driving... that's illegal !!! nah don't intend to use it on the beach, just to get there and back, my jetta is taking a beating as it is.
fitting the golf motor only because i have 1 and all the bits and bobs to make it work and as to the roll cages and such i'm pretty good at steel work and fabrication so that's not a problem
