I run a wasserboxer electronic distributor on Petrus in conjunction with the Golf electronic control module and a Golf electronic ignition coil.

What a difference. The engine is smoother while trundling along in traffic, idles smoother and pulls better throughout the rev range.

I went for the pertronix kit into an 009. Starts easily, runs and revs smoothly. easy install but probably a bit pricey....

That will work just fine and just bolts into place.

If you are going the turbo route, I would imagine that you will be using fuel injection.

I have found the Gotech ProX to be a very suitable controller as it can adjust the timing to compensate for boost and adjust the injector cycle to compensate for increased fuel requirements.

I will be running a Dell 36 with boost sensitive rising rate fuel regulator, not too keen on locking a dizzy at 24 deg as some guy's suggested, what controller will be least expensive but also suitable to adjust timing during boost?

I have a spare wbx distributor if anyone is interested. Doesn't have a cap or rotor.
