Wow - nice colour!
Is that dash real carbon fibre?
You scored big-time since the pan is already shortened. Now you just need to decide - off-road or speed and setup the suspension for which ever one you want. Lots of ground clearance for off-road or dropped suspension for speed.
Those mags are also nice and wide!
I think building a buggy is one of the most fun things you can do with a beetle

Thanks for the kind words.
I am still in very much two minds - wheather to build for off road or a nice "hot rod" style buggy.
No the dashboard is not real carbon

- will hopefully be making one sometime soon - the carbon wrapped one will have to do for now.
I have had the wheels re-epoxy'ed and the old tires put back on.
Have also connected up the lights and flickers - just need to make holes in the body work for the rear lights. Have been playing with the idea on fitting the rear lights to a brackets - then will not have to make holes in the body work. Will decide this weekend.
Will upload new pics after the weekend.
Thanks again!

That buggy is vaguely familiar, I have seen it before. It is a typical Beamish buggy probably from the ate 1990's or early 2000's. One improvement the PO made was a custom length clutch cable. And he changed the exhausts. I notice there's no fuel filter.
For tail lights, I suggest putting beetle tail lights on. I think they look good and I like putting beetle bits on my bug. Have a look at my bug on the thread in the signature.
Those wide five Trail Duster rims are very scarce. Beamish is not using them anymore because they can't get them, since 2001.
Nice rebuild. Enjoy!

@Ron&Gill - when i removed the bonnet of the buggy it did have a date on it written in Permenant pen - 1989. (Cant remember the exact date)
I have purchased a fuel filter for it - i have just not installed (did not have one installed at the time of purchase)
I did not know that the "dunster" rims where scarce - thanks - i do very much like the look of them. The front rims are 14" and the rear are 15". The rear tyres are 265/75/15.
I am still looking for new studs and spacers for the rear - the wheels scraped against the side panels. I have re fibre glassed and sprayed the side panels - definately dont want the wheels to scrape again. The pics not have the sides fitted.
I have purchased the lights already and have connected them up. They are the round "crystal" lights. Will alter to the beetle bits if the dont blend in well.
I have been planning to change the exhausts - have been surfing the EMPI sites - hopefully i find something soon that will blend in with the look.
Thanks for the info!

Is it HR's diveway? No, not quite, same bricks, not enough oil stains...
