I know this is completely the wrong forum to ask but do any of you guys play with OBD 2 Scanners? I'm looking for a good OBD 2 scanner(personal use not workshop use). any feed back on the Innovate OT-2 would be great but i'm also interested in the Launch Creader VI? Wanna get alot more Hands on with my new toy as well as avoid the Garages that do work on my cars from bullshitting me (Cough..audi..cough cough).

Cool, will store the number, but the fun is in having the scanner and checking everything at home and leaving it plugged in and seeing your engine alive in the palm of your hand. and i also want to take it to the track, so that if something goes wrong then i can scan and know if i can drive home. and it allows me to do DIY repairs that weren't previously possible. O2 sensors, check ignition timing and and and

Also i think i have a fuel starvation issue.

Cool but then you must get a proper scanner. The cheaper ones give more generic code and you still have to work out what the story is..

I have a bluetooth ELM327 scanner that connects to the Torque application of my Android phone. Reads & resets fault codes as well as display real-time information. The BT plug cost me £12 and the app £3.

I also use a USB cable and VAGTOOLS -VagCom on my Ubuntu laptop for more specific diagnostics.

Lotus Elise, old Audi TT, 98 audi A4, 03 audi A4. So a more generic one should do the trick, i dont mind looking up the codes on the net for vehicle specific issues.

The lotus is the spanner in the works for all the rest you can use vcds available from "Hex Dianostics" in Cape town, the owner Zool is a above board guy and the software is all we use in our workshop.
