Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi everyone - Hamish from Jhb.
I have a 1963 Type 1 with original engine and gearbox. The picture was taken on the day I picked it up.
The goal is a complete restoration.
It has been slow going so far as I cannot work on it all the time but even I only manage to work on it for an hour or 2, I still have a huge amount of fun!

Hi all Kunda here from Lusaka ,Zambia.
Got myself a 1975-76 air cooled beetle I have been restoring since October 2020.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Names TJ, been a Bugaholic may moons now.
Built my 1st in 1990-1992 and owned it for many years.
Pearl white with big sound like a youngster should.
Sold the Bug to a youngster and bought a CTI golf and so the story grows. got older, got kids and now my daughter of 16 wanted a bug, so the project starts. Bought a pan and shell for cheap as the deal is we will do it from rust bucket to car so she can fix it herself if something goes wrong.
Joined here to get some tips as it has been a while, and looking to share some info, get advise, find some spares, and just enjoy the bugz life again.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
HI, new here, my dad raced a beetle very successfully in the 70's, i grew up with beetles, a 59 Ghia, a type 4.... etc. All of which were in various degrees of modification. I have a '73 412 variant with a 2.4 type 4 which is still in process.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi
My name is Redewaan and I bought my first 1969 vw type 3 fastback a few months ago to restore. I am 90% complete and in need of a rear windscreen.
I was hoping someone in the group can point me in the right direction as to where I can purchase one.
Regards
R
