Ok ..OK... Was just joking...

Yes it is a type 4 VW, 412 Variant.

The term Variant was used by VW to describe their Station Wagons.
The term Fastback was used by VW to describe their "coupé" type body.
The term Notch was used by VW to describe their "sedan" type body.
And average guy in the street, tend to mix up these terms, making it funny for the VW guys.

The 412 replaced the 411 due to style changes. as well as other Important changes.
