Electric Bug

I remember quite a while back seeing an article on an electric Split Bus. The conversion was done by a University Engineering Team. I'm not sure if the following has been posted before but I found it absolutely fascinating. This Green bug was the first one I read about:

I have been wanting to build on of these for years now..... verry cool thanks for posting !
My biggest fear is that my wife sells my cars for what i told her they cost !!

Just a point of interest, the LiFePO4 cells are rather cheaply available from china. Also the big mama speed controllers are also obtainable from those industrious yellow fellows.

I think to do this and really benefit nicely one would have to set up a bank of solar panels and make the battery packs easily removable. Then while one pack would be charging at home the other would be running in the EV.

IIRC there was a guy earlier in the year that was doing electric Pumas. In SA I think.
The only substitute for cubic inches are more cubic inches.
