Aircooled VW South Africa

So yeah, I have to do some body work on the speedster as there are some scratches and knicks to fix as I've been working on her a bit and the dash has to be cut up and remoulded to fit the 912 gauges, so I'm thinking that it's time for a colour change as this colour is REALLY limiting me to interior choices (black or oxblood) and I really want a tan/ brown interior.

First choice (light blue, not sure of the code, but this has the interior that I'm after) Second choice - Black - with the tan interior or oxblood interior) Third choice - Pea Green - Tan interior Or Silver as in the colour that it used to be........lol. with an oxblood interior.


I was also considering red...............with a tan interior...........what you lot think?

I may be biased but the red with tan interior gets my vote. My personal preference would be a darker red.





or if you prefer a lighter shade...





Just get rid of the awful Nardi steering wheel in the last pic...

After seeing rabid ants speedster, I was really digging red, but it's the most common colour, I want mine to pop a bit more......I'm currently building a carerra GT style wheel, nardi POS don't get my vote.

My vote is for the Black... But thats just me....

Aaahh.... second choice would be either one of these:

slate grey with a bright red int...







or a lighter silver with oxblood int...

aaaaaaaaaah slate grey..........I almost did it that colour.........but changed at the last minute, I've had a black car before and hoenstly, I don't know why I included it, maybe for that one day in a month that it's clean........lol.

I'm glad you dropped the gunmetal idea ... too 80s for a 356, IMO.

I love red interiors on black, silver or white cars, so that would be my vote. Given the way fibreglass attracts dust, I'd say silver is your best bet as it hides dirt very well, and it will go fine with your favoured tan interior.

That slate grey does look great.
Black with red interior would be my vote.

Ok I've changed my gas mix and so my vote...

The Silver is the way to go. & if you can get it to look like that aluminum finish the Audi's of old got it would be amazing not least blinding when the sun reflects of the surface...

That grey/blue with tan interior is absolutely the best. I've never seen a speedster like that. It stands out with class. Every other sports car you see today is red/silver/black/ferrari yeller/etc etc.

I voted for the blue on. First picture. Purely because it looks tit, and as Drusky says, it isn't what you would normally see. Winner for me IMHBCO
