Where does this Choke knob come from?

This came with Betty and was always curious about where it came from.
I was gonna use it for my carb but I have since sourced a 6V with an electric choke.
But I might still want to use this because it looks cool, and I haven't seen one before.
Any ideas of where this sweet choke knob comes from?

After some googling and whatnot during work hours, I have seen that this kind of Choke knob is pretty generic.
The design and shape goes as far back as from Fords in 1933, maybe earlier. And they were in brown.
Also saw the design on a classic Holden based parts website.
A found a choke knob on a tractor that looks almost exactly the same as mine, so mine could be from a tractor.
But most likely, it is actually, for genuine, a GENERIC choke. Saw it on a website as a 'universal'.
So, nothing special, but I still like the look of it and I would like to use it in my car where the choke knob would normally go. Even though, I won't need it.
Egh
Also, I am wanting to go grey with my interior trim bits. Everyone wants ivory. So I will go with the grey

I never knew Beetles had manual chokes? Did it have its own guide tube all the way from the front to the rear, like that of the clutch and accelerator cables?

I was also of the knowledge that there was no manual choke. But boom, there was my manual choke carb and original VW choke knob.
There is a hole in the tunnel just before the cross member. Runs through the tunnel. No visible tube that I can see. The engine I have is not supposed to be with my chassis. so, ya. I dunno much either.

If I remember correctly, manual choke was till 1959, mine also has a choke knob.
But know that there was a period where there was no choke at all.
Will look it up and edit if tomorrow.

But your knobs should all be Bone white, you may have to spray your fancy black knob.........

Well, you have either your ivory or bone white as you term it, grey or black. This choke knob is a dark brown and I think it looks cool as is. Won't change it if I use it.
I am crazy like that
