Hi all.
I have a LHD & RHD beemish buggy :hangloose: . I have fixed up the RHD which was standing for 1year to use at Langebaan over the Des. holidays but brought the LHD back for a complete rebuild, reason beiing is that you don't very often see a LHD buggy. Question, this will be approx a 3 month project & a few bugs later  , do you think that the LHD will be worth the effort. Both buggy's is in a not to bad condition :zhelp: This exercise will kick off in Feb 2012, O i must still get pass the wife issue because after every project i start a new one and she is not to happy about it all. This will be project no; 14 i think.
Back to the piont, RHD or LHD, please help :zhelp:
Awaiting ayour reply/input
Thanks Micheal

Hi Michael & welcome to ACVWSA! :welcome:

Having owned and driven a LHD VW for quite some time I think I can speak of first hand experience. The bottom line is that the novelty wears off quickly, and you always have a problem at toll gates, drive-in theatres and McDonalds Drive-Thru's

Jokes aside, I'd say if it is already LHD and registered as a LHD - leave it that way. I once heard that film makers often use South Africa as a location for movies, and that they are always looking for LHD cars to use as backdrops, creating the illusion that the scene is somewhere overseas - maybe you can even make a few bucks with you LHD buggy?

A few years ago they were looking for a few VWs, including a buggy, for the making of a music video in Cape Town - it turned out to be for the band Atomic Kitten :flash:

Hi Pine
Thank you for the spelling lesson. I spell in boere english :jerkoff: I will consider the movie industry as long as the use me as the driver for the four non blondes :flash: So you think it is then definitely worth spending the time, money & seperated from bed & table for 3 months from the wife doing the LHD?
I will just have to invite the wife on every trip to do all the RHD requirements, seeing that i will be on the wrong side of the buggy :hangloose:
Thanks for the input

Yeah I just mend it as a joke, as we drive on the right side as normal, but in my previous job I had to drive from time to time on the left side. It is not bad the only problem comes making right turns.
There is a few right drive cars around town that I have seen, a couple of Rolls Royce/Bentley's, a Jaguar XKE (E type), MG's and a few Nissan Skyline GT-R's.
But enjoy your build.
