Hi guys,

This SO pains me as mine's obviously not up and running for this . My Art Director asked me if FHM can use my bus in a fashion shoot for FHM on Monday. It's very late notice, I know. She only let me know this morning. The shoot is for our fashion pages themed as "rock 'n roll/band-like". They'll have a four people decked out in the latest attire, probably with a few instruments, sitting-in/laying-in/loading-stuff-in/getting-out-of the bus. The feature will obviously show off bits and pieces of the vehicle but please bare in mind that it's a fashion shoot so the fashion is the centre of the portraits. They want old school/rock. Damn Spitz, I wish you and your bus were in Jo'burg!

The shoot is taking place this Monday 23 January 2012 in Johannesburg at Music Connection on Jan Smuts near the MacDonalds. Round about 2pm is when they want to kick off. You'll need to get the bus to the location and it's preferable if you're present during the shoot. I've just been made aware that R1000 will be paid for the use of your vehicle.

I do need to state that I have a back up plan of a forum member's beetle (as my bug is also at the paint shop). The Fashion Editor has asked specifically for a bus though but when they saw said person's bug, they have awarded that a definite second option to a bus due to it's "kiefness".

Please contact me no later than this Saturday (21 January 2012) at 5pm as the fashion peeps need to have notice to prepare. You can notify my via the forum (preferably) or my cell: 072 626 6960.

Oh and if there are many possibles, I'll leave the choice of which to go with at the discretion of the Fashion Editor so no anger willed my way, please

LOL! With a budget of only R1000 for the use of a car, I hardly think they can shift it all to CT! Roadtrip Spitz, ROADTRIP! If you set off now with an overnight stop-over somewhere in the middle, you could be here Saturday for a dop @ the local!

Firstly, a million thanks to everyone who's contacted me so far! I'm truly humbled by the responses!

@ Klaus: um... my laptop is fried so I managed to read your post via my phone last night, but cannot do any replying. Swiftly edited I see . Thanks so much for getting back to me though. It is appreciated. They do want more of a "van" vibe so a SC is a little out of it's depth. Nice to know you're willing though as there'll be plenty of other shoots going on this year! Perhaps a scantily clad Cowgirl poking her fork about might come up

What I do need to say is I've had a number of telephone calls too for the job. I realize my mistake of putting such a late deadline on the deal, I really didn't expect so much interest. They've asked me for a van and now left the choice up to me. Kegan, you were first off the mark so if you're still willing, let me know and we can chat about the details. As long as it's cool for you to be there around 2pm, then all's good. As for the bed, I havn't a clue... The fashion gal isn't in yet so I'll ask. Should the bed stay (very probable) perhaps a change of sheets

To the rest who've made the effort of getting in contact, thanks again, it is very appreciated. I've been pushing the idea of using these old VW's in shoots in FHM for ages now so I know they'll have more - I've threatened to quit if they don't (nothing like a bit of blackmail ). When the next one arises, we'll rotate, so someone else will get the gig.

No story, just like keeping things on ice while the dust settles. Not the bragging type and usually like to keep these things to myself....


She's cool and been using her for the work commute for the week.... Put a smile on my face everyday ! (and a few other drivers !)
