Aircooled VW South Africa

Here's an interesting one for the turbo guys here.
We had another one of the Volkspares turbo buggies on the dyno yesterday... but this one is different.
VW t1 2300cc
CB wedge port heads
CB itb's
Garett Gt28 (disco potato) ballbearing turbo
Engle tcs-20 camshaft

It made about 180whp @ 7psi boost. Full boost is reached at 1800rpm.

Man is this thing nice to drive... almost zero turbo lag. It just shows you what a proper turbo can do. You do not need to go seriously big... just use the right stuff.
It could do with a inter cooler though A couple of boosts and you can actually feel the car not pulling as strong anymore.

That's a really clean looking setup, very nice indeed, 180whp? very impressive, I would like my next Turbo build spec'd like that
Looks like Turbo's are really beginning to gain popularity in the Bug community or am I wrong?.

Would be interesting to know who else runs Turbo's or Nos, professionally built or garage builds. Maybe even a Performance/Turbo Topic for this specifically like on some other forums I've seen?

Interestingly enough, I read that the type 1 head's exhaust port is a better design than the type 4 (flows better).
Mind if I ask a few questions?

What is the ID of the primary exhaust pipes?
Is the cam installed as per specs or advanced?
What muffler is that, where can I get one?

Best would be to speak to Garin @ volkspares as they built the buggy.

I think the exhaust is 38mm on the primary and 63mm on the downpipe.
Cam should be on the zero mark. I do not think it was dialed in with straight cuts.
The muffler is a normal straight through 63mm
