"Barn find" splitties

Post by Donovan D »

Mr Aircooled culture and I went on a bit of a scouting today, managed to find 2 splitties in one day
An early westy with safaris, and dash cut out for a clock.
And a later LHD german bus, we could not believe how solid this bus is
We couldnt get close enough to take proper pictures.

That Westy seems pretty neat. Did you speak to the owners?

What is their history?

Good finds for an afternoon of hunting. Are you looking at trying to get one them ?

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

We spoke to the owners but they are not for sale, even though they are just standing and nothing is being done to them.
The westy is locked up in what looks like an abandoned warehouse with a lot of other junk.
The yellow splitty on the other hand is against the elements and not going to last long if left outside.
Will keep track of these two.

Thats a bit sad. Maybe offer an old tarp to cover it up. Showing some interest that way may prove fruit full in the future

Hi

The white and blue split stood in a shop at Bothasig for about a year,, A3 panelbeaters worked on it and stored it there,, was removed about 3 months ago

The yellow split will be a good project :-)
