Garage find: Beetle 1600S

Post by Loopy »

Found a one owner Beetle 1600S today, pics to follow as I need to download them from my phone. Owner is willing to sell, but what would a good price be? There is rust on the doors, and some small rust spots on the one rear fender. Car is complete and running, and in original condition.

Just to add, I can not buy this Beetle at this time, owner is looking at a price of R8000, car is in Brackenfell, but spent most of it's life in Pta.

And a pic of the license paper

I have not taken the car for a drive, so cannot comment on the state of the engine or gearbox. From what I can surmise, the car was fitted with a new\reconditioned engine a while back. The owner stays in Pta, but the car is in Brackenfell, Cape Town with his daughter, and has been in the Cape for about two to three years, but not next to the sea.

Maybe just the cost of petrol and a one way ticket via Kulula? Looks like it can be driven up!

As an aside, the car has the original Rostyle rims fitted, did not get that in the pics.
