Ok FFF, here come some close ups. You've seen it before, just decided to move it here....needed a new home.

Image

Now dont be fooled by trick photography...this puppy does need loads of work!

Image

Lots of work in here......dash being a good start, and complete redo of all the trim!!

Image

You'll notice she sits extremely low, especially up front.....need to read "beetle suspension for dummies"

Hoping to do discs all round, suspension throughout, interior trim. Complete body workover (up close its a mare, i think it actualy had a bit of a front end smash that's been repaired, but not to my standards.) Half the car looks like it's been sprayed with a can! Some nice goodies there though. hubcaps were brought in from the states, and a couple of other cool touches

Image

All and any help and advice would be appreciated. like i said previously, i've never worked on a beetle before, so when it comes to "what to do" and "when to do it" i'm going to be asking for loads of help. Dont be surprised when i post a pic of something and ask what it is
Just got my Haynes manual....hope that helps too!!!

I still like it a lot...........I also want to do discs all the way around and also look at machining new hubs while I'm at it. I've started my search on trim and little peices and when my Mom comes over from the UK in Auguest, I'm hoping that much of the smaller stuff that I'm looking for will be able to come over with her.

You have a parcel tray?

nice..........

Well. after some minor deliberation, and the fact that the winter has started setting in, i've decided to start some body work on her. My call on the accident was spot on. Removed, stripped both doors to shell and discovered a major tear in the left door thats been repaired.

They did a good job, just needs a bit of filler on the outside and she'll be ready for spraying. Bit of work on the wiring and all that, so pottering around as i go. Have also decided on the colour. Gonna be a red toy.

Just going to be easier for me from a cost and logistics point of view. I'm quite happy to spray flat colours, just not keen on metalics, and will cost me that much less if i do it myself. Fun none the less. ..cant remember when last i had that much fun flatting a car...;) I'll post some pics as i go along to keep you updated. Summers coming....need some wheels!!

cool thanks. :) I'm also in conversation with CP1. I really like the look of their workmanship. Has anyone dealt with them before. They cater for just about all i want, although at a bit of a price.

i'll probably stick with the wheels i have...dont think they are satndard porsche, but have been widened, so i can run a cool tyre setup. and again, those hubcaps .......would be a sin not to use them......;)

My opinion is that Fuch wheels are TOO overused these days... Stockers are WAY cool.....!!
