Re: Overhauling South Africa
Hi April marked a year of work but no completion yet Foose still has something on us and that is speed.
The dashboard has been assembled some wiring done and we also installed the headlining.
Painted the rear seat area and sealed the top gap
some wiring in already
Headlining started to go in
I saved all the old padding
Started hanging the center portion
Armand

George isn't the only car show you know, maybe join next year with your project in Parys for the KKK kamp out. Then you'll get to see some more of the up country cars.retrovan wrote:Hi Armand

Re: Overhauling South Africa
Hi all
I really appreciate all the nice comments and encouragement. Engine wise we decided on a standard 1600 as this is Reniers first car. The brakes and rest of chassis is built to take more and sometime in future this might happen. He visited this weekend and a bit more got done
The fenders were finally fitted with copious amounts of rust preventative wax
This is the second windscreen first one had some nicks on the edges and didnt behave it self
The look is coming together now
We are thinking about wheels still?

Looks very good, Armand!
Are you replacing the window rubbers with the chrome beadings again?

Re: Overhauling South Africa
Armand,
Looking great, will be a stunner when finished. Looking at your fender bolts - when doing a test I used the chassis to body oval looking washers as washers for the fenders and to me they looked quite good and they offered better support to the fender. Granted it was and oval fender which seems to have a bigger flange so it sits nicely.
Just a thought..

Re: Overhauling South Africa
Hi all thanks for the comments. I also like the wheels but the owner says they are too small it seems 17's is the request.
As for fender washers it might be advantageous to use bigger washers but the ones I used are the same size as std and worked well. Due to the gasket used (pro auto rubber fenderwelt) I found that when the bolts are overtightened the rubber deforms so none of them are very tight
