Aircooled VW South Africa

My collection of VW/Audi brand products suddenly grew yesterday as Audi bought Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati, and two of my bikes are aircooled , a '82 Mike Hailwood Replica & a 2000 Mike Hailwood Evo
I'm glad Ducati stays in Europe, and didn't go Chinese or Indian like so many other makes!

Yup, like KTM who are now half owned by Bajaj of India. Interesting how the Indians and the Chinese have so much money these days.

guess BMW is finally gonna have some real competition in the market at last...

As a BMW rider I am very biased but that said I really can't see Duke making a huge dent in the BMW market. BMW owners are very loyal to the brand and for the type of riding we do here in ZA BMW has that market sewn up big time.

BMW even have the hottest superbike on the road at the moment and that is very out of character with the producer of an 'old man's bike'. I just recently read the write up on the BMW S1000RR and the new Ducati Panigale and the BMW trumps it in almost every regard but one .... looks. That new Panigale is hot, hot, hot!

What bike do you ride? A Ducaudi!

Duck sales will never pass BMW sales. but audi didnt use the Gallardo to compete with Ferrari, they used Lambo tech to make the R8. i wouldnt be surprised to see Audi badged bikes (full of Ducati tech) in the not-too-distant future to compete with BMW, while leaving the big red beasts to fight in the niche market they already in. Audi doesnt sommer just get involved in something unless they know theres benefit and they can have a winning strategy.

It is us fcuking dumb Americans that outsource everything to them and then buy it back at huge increases. Nobody has ever said we 'Mericans are the cleverest people, we just got lost of money and are lazy.

Don't forget that each of those countries has a billion customers, while I was researching cheap bikes for my daughter to learn to ride I discovered that Bajaj sells over 2 million bikes a year. I was astonished as I had not even heard of them before that. I think that they focus on huge quantities and low prices to make their profits.
