1964 Type1 1200cc

This is John's new baby, I drove it back from Gonubie yesterday and it went like a dream, pushed 55Mph on the downhills, didnt want to push any harder but its a fun little drive
Any input/suggestions/whats non OG on it so we can get it into OG asap. Im not too clued up on what are the correct bits on the '64. I will get more pics soon...

For starters, the fender indicators are non-64.

As far as I can see those are the correct ones.
These are for a 64
Unless they are these ones

It looks very neat, could you get more pics so we can see every thing then we will be able to help a bit more
Those are the wrong door handles (the 64 came out with push button ones and no protection plate underneath). To be honest I don't think that different door handles should fit it, which is making me wonder if it really is a 64 unless its be "custom fitted"
As I said I can't be sure that they are even the handle that I think I'm seeing because of the angle of the pic.

They are the correct 'square' handles. "Scuff plates" are common accessory items.

The other pics are on my camera I left in that beetle after I drove it to hizhouse, so ill fetch my camera tonight and upload tomorrow. Well the papertrail goes back to first owner, and John is the 3rd owner, the beetle came from Aliwal North, it was traded in at the Ford dealership by the first owner in 1990 and the second owner was the daughter of the dealer principal. So definately it is a '64, however it seems a lot of people updated their bugs as if it was compulsory at service intervals...
