Nothing new, long ago a few Golf1/Rabbits got this treatment in the US. Also some later golfs and T4- T5 transporters were changed to aircooled.

Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.

You gotta ask yourself one question WHY?
It only proves you are handy with metal and a welder

The dog has the best of both worlds - they're aircooled most of the time, then when he licks them they're watercooled
Size does matter

More pictures:
One advantage is: TRACTION. As in not putting it's front paws in the air when trying to make a getaway. Granted, they could have taken the complete Golf engine/transaxle and fitted it transverse at the back. But then, it would'nt be of interest to an aircooled forum.
There are several clips on youtube of racing aircooled Golf/Rabbits.
If this link do'nt work, just search an you will find.
