VW Bay Window find (with pics)

Hi guys,
So, a bit new to the blog, anyway, an old lady wants to sell what she thinks is a 1974 VW Bay Window Kombi. It is a 2000L and from what i hear these motors were terrible... any verdicts on this?
The car has papers, and has newly been licensed. It belonged to her late husband, and its been standing for around 2 odd years since he passed away. It has new tyres, and the interior is very neat.
What are these worth? and what should I take into consideration before i buy this? its really beautiful
the door is hanging though, and there is a fair amount of rust too.
