Aircooled VW South Africa

After reading Mellow's "non vw" related post it made me think.. why not have a section to post all our unrelated stuff in ? I would rather support and deal with "forum folk" whether its to buy/sell an old washing machine or house for that matter , what do you guys think or is that what the "off topic" sections for ?

I've always thopught Off Topic was a catch-all forum for everything not related to ACVWs, including selling your washing machine/Toyota/mother-in-law.

I guess it would help to sub-divide off-topic in the same way as the rest of the forum is divided into different forums based on the subject, but I think that would take us further from being an ACVW website. Personally, I come here to discuss ACVWs, not politics/WCVWs/etc.

I'm interested in others' views on this.

Just create a new sub section called "Off Topic - For Sale", but in such a way that only members who have xx amount of posts can post there...

Otherwise there'll be ppl signing up just to advertise their wares with not a care for the rest of the forum and this isn't a classifieds site...

Classifieds are best left to gumtree in your local area...

I agree. If you want to sell your lawnmower,washing machine ect. feel free to do so. Place it in off topic section and just state in your heading what you got for sale. This way members can see what you are advertizing. If they are not interrested they dont open your post. Simple really!

Agree with Fig and Muds - we are here to share our interest in ACVWs - the Off-Topic section is fine as it is.
