I am looking for a responsible person to drive a party of women to a birthday celebration in the Fourways area of Joburg next Saturday evening 25/8 in my red 1970 Westfalia.

I will drop the bus off with you on Thursday and collect it after the weekend.

The whole thing should not take more than an hour of your time, and your reward will be R500.

I accepted this job some time ago, and then my mother organised her 70th birthday party in Cape Town on the same evening, which I obviously shouldn't miss!

Times have changed slightly. The party needs to be picked up in Randpark Ridge at 14h00 (2pm) and taken to Douglasdale.

Anybody want to make R500 for an hour of your time transporting a party of women in the coolest old VW camper on the road?

I would simply just be to afraid to drive someone else's pride and joy in JHB

Fig,I'm not sure I would be able to make those times......on the flip side,I could be home in time to end off the work day......where is rand park ridge? Also,can we arrange a pick up point closer to the proposed party pick up?

I very seldom let anyone but me and mrsfig drive any of my cars. The only reason I'm prepared to do it now is because I made a commitment to provide a bus pick-up and drop-off on Saturday and I can't do it myself.

I'm surprised no one is jumping at the opportunity to drive one of the coolest early bay westies around, at my risk. Not to mention chauffeuring a group of girls in party mode. Should be good for a date or two!

If this was in Cape Town, Paul ,Es and I would have fallen over our feet. That Montana red bus is one of my favourite bus colours....!!

I have a non-ACVW friend who's willing to do the job. I just thought ACVW volks would get more enjoyment out of it.

Would have loved to take that lady for a spin!
Only problem would be prying the keys out of my hand when you collect her
Heck getting out of her would have been hard for me!
And then there would be the therapy I needed once Fig drives off in her!
Thank goodness the minister of finances filled my calendar for that day.
