Lemoen (Orange - as in the fruit..) - '73 1303

Here's my little bug that I swopped for the Spyder I had, I saw the car and it looked ok, upon spending some time in/with it I realised that it needs a LOT more work that I bargained for, but, I'll push through and get the car back to it's former glory (hopefully even better).
The weekend past it let me down already, broke down in Primrose with fuel delivery problems, got it sorted roadside and it got me safely back home and then to Benoni & back yesterday to get clearance done for the engine that the PO had no bloody invoice for..
If the whole adventure with this car starts like this, then it can only get better from here!

P.S. Lemoen is the car's name because it's orange, my previous beetle was named piesang (by my cousin) because it was yellow.. See it here - http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... 58#p202258

Thanx, it's close to ST orange, not original and definitely getting changed, looks can be deceiving - there is a fair bit that needs sorting out..

Looks great :hangloose: :hangloose: I still don't know if I like the South African rear lights more or the ones like on this car, without them been on a stand ...

1303 Super Beetle. By far my favourite beetle, McPherson struts, front disc brakes and those sweet curved front fenders. I love that ride, wish my bug were a 1303. I also want to put those euro-spec rear fenders on my bug.

Hope you enjoy your bug, it's a really sweet ride. Saw one similar to it on Gumtree.

Yip, same beetle, this is a cleverly disguised rust bucket!
The bonnet looks ok from the outside, but when its closed I can stick my hand in between the front apron and the bonnet, k@k panelbeating!
My panelbeater says he doesn't even want to touch the bonnet..
