Hi to all
I have not been on here for a while so its time to catch up.
The project was bigger than I ever thought an the thought of doing a quick top restoration has vanished completely. In the end I have bought just over 40 different sheet metal pieces for mostly in floor section. Then I we are also fitting around 10-15 home made sheet metal piece into different sections of the chassis to repair either rust or accident damage.
Well the good news is after various delays caused mostly by my work schedule I am running at full speed again. Welding and paint is in progress now and planned completion on this is end of Feb.
The whole chassis was sandblasted to clean al the rubbish out.
So here are a few images for now not the best but idea is there

I was drooling over this bus at the end of last year when I saw it standing at a workshop in pta. Glad to know it belongs to a forum member. Can't wait to see it when its finished. :D

When the car comes back from paint I want to o only assembly so I am buying ,plating and planning every part now including my new garage. I don't want to clean any parts and waste time just put it together and start driving.

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Awesome Leon! I'm glad the bus is finally getting to the standard you want it to be. It's well worth the effort and this bus is in the right hands!

Enjoy the Kruger trip. And expect to be swamped by snap-happy tourists; your car will be a toursit attraction all on its own.

Giraffe ...... Good idea bad idea ? Not sure which one yet....
Thanx Fig I realised that this bus attracts more attention that what I ever would have thought. I did a test drive in Rietvlei nature reserve and when the first person stopped me I thought they wanted to tell me where the Cheetah is. I soon realised that I am not being stop for info but to look at the bus it happened quite a few more times that day.....

Just a though but what about Kaapse Kombi Kult Kamp out Kruger 2016....... hold it after the normal one never ever stop the normal one.
I never though I would ever get a Samba!!
