Interesting. Has this kombi been at the KKK Kamp out before? I remember one that was fitted with a v6 (last year?) There was also an immaculate one at the 3rd kamp out, it's deffinitely not the same one is it?
Well, I deffinitely think that fellow got a good deal, because hell!!, converting an ambulance to a camper or something is just distirbing.

Mine was destined for exactly the same fate, by a youngster of similar age. I saved it
just in time.
Nice SANL ambo.

Yes, it was at the 3rd KKKult kamp-out. It was in much better condition then. I also have pics I took of it at Nasrec in 2002, when it looked as new. It's amazing how quickly cars deteriorate when they're neglected and abused.
The V6 ambulance at last year's event is owned by the same family, also an ex-SA Noodhulp Liga ambulance, but also quite scruffy and hacked for the V6 and radiator.
If anyone can help with contacts for parts, I need the glass and catch for the cab divider windows, as well as the original frosted glass for the right rear window.
Also the folding seat (not the jump seat) in the back is missing.

Thanks Merlin. You must be mellowing with age; I never thought I'd hear you compliment a baywindow.

I love stories about car finds like this, especially if the car is still in an original condition. Check out the link below about a 1953 ambulance

Thanks for this post.
Sure a lot of guys will be using it as reference to do their own buses.
Should have the Mods shift the photos, to the reference section of this forum.
