Fresh build 1600 twin port, fits either beetle, bus to 1973 or KG.
No short cuts on this one, what needed replacing was changed.
Case line bored, 1mm OS & refaced
Cam drive gear machined to spec
New Mahle main bearings
Re-faced cam folowers
7.9 to 1 CR
Crank machined 0.5mm US
New AE big end bearings
Rods rebuilt with new AE small ends
KS pistons OS 0.5mm with AE rings, machined sleeves to suit
New Mahle cam bearings
Flywheel re-faced
Elring main seal
Heads rebuilt, new guides & exhaust valves, fly-cut, no cracks or damaged threads or inserts
Flushed & pressure tested oil cooler
New 26mm oil pump, (From Alert engine parts, can't remember make) 3 Bar oil pressure at idle
New pump cover with bay bus cross member hanger
New gaskets all round
Fresh 20w50 Shell Helix oil & 4 NGK plugs

I built this motor for myself as a spare for my rides 4 months ago, but over December holidays had nothing to do and built a 1776, so this one is now taking up space.
It has been run on the bench for about 1,5 hours, not been in a ride since rebuild, no oil leaks, no issues.
I can sell it as a sub with oil cooler R9500 or as a complete, (less exhaust), with either a alternator or genny with stock dizzy, carb & clutch (everything to make it run included) R12000.
Carb & dizzy have been re-worked and are 100% working condition, fresh paint / powder coating.
It is complete at the moment and you can come & see it run.
Runs super smooth, no knocking squeeling or tapping
Engineering costs alone on this one cost me almost R3000, do the sums, this is a good deal, cant do a simillar rebuild for the price.
Sold with a 3 month warrantee on sub.

Yes, asking price; basically covers my costs.
The only oddity with this motor is 2 different head castings, one is a original 311 casting the other a newer 042, but machine shop checked the CR and it's all good.

I can pull the oil cooler R9200 for the Sub.
Got a buddy going down to CT for the Argus cycle race, if you can wait until mid March then I can get it down there.
Otherwise a courier is going to set you back R980 (only phoned 1 place), maybe you can check your end.
Let me know.

Love seeing parts change hands...

Oh and Rui I finally picked up my case and crank on the weekend... Gas mix was too good and I couldnt find my ass for a while never mind Seans house... I must just ask Bugger if sean forgot the dual valve springs behind.

But anyway thanks for the kit! I smaak it stuikend and am already itching to start the next build but I suppose I need to finnish one before I start the next...

Yes LOOOOONG time, bummer on the dual springs, they were in a KS blue & white main bearing box, check with Sean & Pierre.
